Nissan Pathfinder Illustration
Concept-led illustration for automotive lifestyle campaign

I was commissioned by Dotdash Meredith to create a series of illustrations for Nissan Pathfinder, focused on communicating the outdoor lifestyle and sense of adventure associated with the vehicle. The aim was to bring the experience of exploring the outdoors to life through simple, engaging visuals.

Client: Nissan Pathfinder (via Dotdash Meredith)
Project type: Brand / campaign illustration
Role: Illustrator
Usage: Campaign and digital
Focus: Outdoor lifestyle, travel and exploration

Brief: Create a series of illustrations that could highlight the lifestyle accessible with the Nissan Pathfinder focusing on travel, exploration and outdoor experience.

The work needed to:

  • Feel aspirational but accessible

  • Reflect real-world environments

  • Support the wider campaign narrative

The project centred around a broad idea outdoor adventure.

The challenge was to:

  • Avoid generic landscape visuals

  • Introduce specific, recognisable moments

  • Keep the illustrations clear while still feeling rich and engaging

Approach: The approach focused on building detailed, narrative scenes inspired by real locations.

Research into U.S. National Parks helped shape the environments allowing subtle details to bring authenticity to each illustration while keeping the overall composition simple and readable.

Rather than focusing on the vehicle alone, the aim was to show the experience around it placing the Pathfinder within moments of travel, exploration and interaction.

The aim wasn’t to just show the vehicle, but to capture the experience of using it.

Outcome: The final series of illustrations captured a range of outdoor experiences, helping communicate the lifestyle and capability of the Nissan Pathfinder.

The work adds narrative depth to the campaign making the idea of adventure feel more tangible and relatable.
